When facing a serious or complex health issue, it’s normal to have doubts. While information is abundant today, not all sources are reliable or understandable for non-medical professionals. That’s why it’s best to have your questions answered by recognized specialists in your specific condition.

If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to contact us!
They are experts recommended by colleagues in their own specialty, sub-specialized in your specific condition, with proven experience in diagnosing and treating it. They are also involved in research and teaching related to the condition.
We send the specialist a comprehensive summary of your medical history and all available test results so that they have the same information they would if you were attending an in-person consultation.
At the beginning of the process, one of our doctors will let you know exactly what documents to provide.
In any case, we will need copies of your medical reports and, depending on your condition, imaging studies and/or biopsy samples.
Patient rights in Spain are governed by Law 41/2002, of November 14, which guarantees your right to access your medical records and request a full copy.
Your medical history includes reports and complementary tests (CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, etc.).
Each public or private institution has its own procedure to request these records. In general, you should contact the Patient Services Department,
fill out a request form, provide your ID and request a copy of your medical file.
Once we have all your medical documentation, the process usually takes 7 to 15 working days, depending on the complexity of the case, the number of specialists involved, and their availability.
We understand time matters — we always work to provide your report as quickly as possible. Once we receive the answer from the specialist, your assigned physician will contact you to discuss the report and answer your questions. You will then receive a complete dossier with the full report of your Second Medical Opinion.
You don’t need to worry!
It’s impossible for every specialist to be sub-specialized in all diseases.
It is standard practice for doctors to present complex cases in clinical meetings with multiple colleagues to evaluate the best treatment options. A Second Medical Opinion is simply a “remote clinical session.”
Many physicians even welcome or encourage their patients to seek one.
If both specialists agree, you’ll gain reassurance; if they differ, your care team will re-evaluate your case with the new information.
You should know that some of our patients are doctors themselves.
Not unless you specifically request it.
No. You should not suspend your current treatment while your case is being reviewed.
It may happen that the diagnosis changes completely, or that it cannot be confirmed due to lack of additional studies, or is only partially correct.
In all cases, we recommend sharing your Second Medical Opinion report with your treating physician so they can reassess your situation.
We also recommend sharing the report with your current specialist, who will review the new recommendations and re-evaluate the therapeutic options in your case.
The service cannot be guaranteed for:
- Acute health problems: these are conditions that appear suddenly or over a short period of time (hours or days), with an expectedly short course and that can usually be resolved with simple treatment. A Second Medical Opinion is also not recommended for serious conditions requiring urgent medical attention. However, once the emergency has been managed, a Second Medical Opinion can be obtained afterward.
- Psychiatric conditions that require a personal interview.
Minor or easily treatable conditions are not covered by this service.
