Expert Second Medical Opinion

What Is a Medical Second Opinion?

A Medical Second Opinion is a remote consultation designed for individuals facing complex, serious, chronic, or degenerative health conditions, or any issue that significantly impacts their quality of life. It allows your case to be reviewed remotely by a highly regarded specialist in the specific condition you are dealing with.

The specialist will review your diagnosis, determine the most appropriate treatment for your situation, answer your questions, and provide personalized recommendations to help you manage your health problem as effectively as possible.

A medical second opinion can change everything

It offers reassurance, confidence, and new treatment opportunities for those who need them most.

When Can a Medical Second Opinion Help You?

A Medical Second Opinion is especially valuable when:

  • You want to confirm your diagnosis.
  • You wish to understand the most appropriate treatment options for your case.
  • Your current treatment is not proving effective.
  • You are offered several treatment alternatives and need to choose between them.
  • You are being advised to undergo an invasive procedure.
  • You have questions that need clarification.
  • Your medical team lacks sufficient experience with your condition.

For Which Health Conditions?

A Medical Second Opinion can be especially helpful if you are dealing with a complex, serious, degenerative condition or any health issue that significantly impacts your quality of life.

The most common areas of consultation include:

  • Oncological conditions
  • Musculoskeletal disorders (fibromyalgia, disabling disc herniations, chronic pain…)
  • Neurological conditions (epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, dystrophies, myasthenia gravis…)
  • Cardiovascular conditions (arrhythmias, aortic aneurysms, congenital heart defects…)
  • Kidney diseases (chronic kidney failure, glomerulonephritis, polycystic kidney disease…)
  • Ophthalmological conditions (particularly when vision loss exceeds 50%)

If you’re unsure whether your case qualifies, feel free to contact us — we’ll be happy to guide you.

How does it work?

It is just very easy…

1. We’re here to listen.

Tell us what problem is concerning you. We’ll explain how the service works and what documentation you need to provide.

2. Your medical information

Send us your medical reports and diagnostic tests; if you need help, we’re here to assist you.

3. We send your case to the specialist

We provide the specialist with a clinical summary and access to your diagnostic tests.

4. Specialist’s report

In just a few days, you’ll receive the specialist’s report, which our medical team will go over with you in detail.

5. We’re here for you

Our medical team will monitor your progress for as long as you need.

You may be wondering…

We’ll send the specialist a summary with the most relevant information from your medical history and any tests you’ve had, so they have the same documentation they would if you visited their office.

At the beginning of the process, one of our doctors will tell you exactly which documents you need to provide.

In general, we’ll need your medical reports and, depending on your condition, your imaging tests and/or biopsy samples.

Spanish law (Law 41/2002) recognizes your right to access your medical records and request a full copy.

Your medical record includes, among other documents, your medical reports and complementary tests (CT scans, MRIs, X‑rays…).

Each public or private center has its own procedure. In most cases, you’ll need to contact the Patient Services department, fill out a form, present your ID, and request a copy. In many centers, you can also download all your documentation directly from your “Patient Portal.”

Once we have all your medical documentation, the process usually takes between 7 and 15 working days, depending on the complexity of your case, the number of specialists involved, and their availability. Even so, we know time matters to you, so we always work to deliver the expert’s report as quickly as possible.

When the report is ready, the doctor responsible for your case will contact you to explain it and answer any questions you may have. Afterwards, you’ll receive a complete dossier with the results of the Second Medical Opinion.

You shouldn’t worry about this.

No specialist can be highly subspecialized in every condition, and it’s common for doctors to discuss cases with other professionals to evaluate the best treatment options. A Second Medical Opinion is simply another way of broadening that assessment.

Many specialists not only appreciate receiving input from leading experts, but even encourage their patients to request a second opinion.

If both opinions align, it will give you peace of mind. If they differ, your medical team will review your case again.

No, unless you explicitly ask us to.

No. You should continue your treatment while we review your case.

It’s possible that the diagnosis changes significantly, that it cannot be confirmed due to a lack of complementary tests, or that it is only partially accurate.

In any of these situations, we recommend sharing your Second Medical Opinion report with your treating physicians so they can reassess your case.

We recommend sharing your Second Medical Opinion report with your specialist, who will review it carefully and reassess the therapeutic options for your case.

The service cannot be guaranteed in the following situations:

  • Acute health problems: conditions that appear suddenly and evolve over hours or days, often resolved with simple treatments. If the situation is serious and requires urgent care, a Second Medical Opinion is not advisable. Once the emergency has been addressed, the service can be provided.
  • Psychiatric conditions that require an in‑person evaluation, since a remote assessment would not be appropriate.
  • Minor or easily manageable conditions, which do not require the involvement of an expert team.

Face Scan

The revolution in your health care

With Facial Scan technology, we bring the most innovative tools in digital health directly to you. Your smartphone camera captures subtle fluctuations in the blood vessels of your face (a technique known as remote photoplethysmography). Thanks to artificial intelligence, these variations can be interpreted to determine your vital signs and other health indicators—anytime, anywhere.

Know your health data to help prevent the onset of diseases (such as hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol), detect them early, or monitor their progression—without travel, without waiting, and without special devices.

Remote monitoring with the camera of your smartphone

In just one minute, Facial Scan allows you to measure, quickly and non‑invasively, from anywhere and in real time:

  • Your vital signs (blood pressure, heart and respiratory rate, stress level, cardiovascular health, recovery capacity, heart rate variability, …)
  • Other health indicators, such as hemoglobin and glycated hemoglobin (useful for diabetes detection), without the need for blood samples.

Benefits of using Facial Scan

  • Instant results, from anywhere, at any time
  • A perfect complement to medical teleconsultations
  • No special devices required—just your smartphone
  • Your vital signs are in your hands

Very important: your face is not recorded, and no biometric data is stored.
